Version 15.0

I'm back in NYC, for the 15th year... no wonder it feels so "Home sweet Home",  this is the place I've been at for most of my adult life, by choice.

I laugh at my double life, as a Mexican and as a NewYorker, things are so different here ! And after 3 months of vacation I'm absolutley feeling the fast pace of life already. However, I'm reminded in this version 15th of mine, that i will control my social life this time instead of letting it control me...

On my first weekend here, I had numerous invitations for outings, and I was pleased because it felt quite welcomming, buy my main focus was in "settling in"...

My first impression in comming back to my apartment where the gifts left by the friends who stayed here and their notes which where lovely. Secondly, I noticed I was welcomed by too many boxes ! of "things" that I needed to get rid of which I did and I was happy to drop off two huge luggages at the local church St Paul while the lady who opened the stuff glanced at the items with a huge smile "someone's garbage is always someone else's treasure"... i thought...

Thirdly: grocery shopping was the greatest pleasure ! I fet so lucky to come back to my favorite neighborhood shops as an Upper West Sider: Zabars, Fairway, Trader Joes. It was a great experience to remind myself I count on these awesome places where every product seems to have a label "organic" nowadays.

And the most exciting things have been these city streets, people full of life, bookstores, shops adorned in great ways. I love my neighborhood.
